Game Bird Heritage Program Special Hunt Event
Yolo Bypass Apprentice Pheasant Hunt

The Yolo Bypass Apprentice Pheasant Hunt for apprentice (junior) hunters will be held Nov. 15. The application deadline is Oct. 27.

Permits will be issued for a special Youth Apprentice Pheasant Hunt at Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area in Yolo County, west of Davis. The apprentice pheasant hunt permits will be offered to 25 junior hunters for this special hunt. To be eligible, youths must have successfully completed a hunter education course and possess a valid 2008-09 California Junior Hunting License at the time of application. The hunt is scheduled as follows:

• Nov. 15 - 8 a.m. to noon

Twenty five hunters will be drawn for this hunt. Hunters should arrive at the check station by 7:00 a.m. Junior hunters must submit an application prior to the application deadline.

Hunters can apply on the DFG Web site or can download, print and mail an application form available at: www.dfg.ca.gov/wildlife/hunting/uplandgame/gamebird/specialhunts.

If successfully drawn, the contact person will be notified by mail approximately one week after the drawing. Only permit holders will be allowed to hunt.
