DFG Announces Delayed Waterfowl Opener for Westside Units of Grizzly Island Wildlife Area

The three Type-B areas located along Interstate 680, which include the Gold Hills Unit, Goodyear Slough Unit, and West Family Unit will have a delayed opener for waterfowl season due to maintenance issues. These areas are expected to be open prior to the 4th week of waterfowl season.

The Type-A area Grizzly Island Wildlife Area, however, will be open to accommodate a full capacity (350 people) for opening day and the check station will operate according to schedule. There are more ponds at Grizzly Island flooded up to shoot level for this year’s opener than was for last year’s opener.
