Promotional Exams
These exams are open only to current DFG employees.
C.E.A. Exams
These exams are for top-level administrative positions. To be eligible,
you must be a State civil service employee with permanent civil service
status or who previously had permanent status in the State civil service;
or be a current or former employee of the Legislature, with two or
more consecutive years as defined in Government Code Section 18990;
or be a current or former no-elected exempt employee of the Executive
Branch with two or more consecutive years (excluding those positions
for salaries are set by statute) as defined in Government Code Section
18992; or be a person retired from the United States military, honorably
discharged from active duty with a service-connected disability, or
honorably discharged from active duty as defined in Government Code
Section 18991.

Apply for as many exams for which you are interested and qualified. To see if you meet the minimum qualifications for entrance into an exam check the exam title(s) listed above. Bulletins announcing an upcoming exam for a specific classification are typically released three to four weeks prior to the final filing date for the exam.
